When it comes to easy dinner ideas, casserole recipes are up at the top. Along with crock pot recipes, casserole recipes are always great to make for family meals or for potlucks and gatherings. But she also says that you should also be able to have a treat every once in a while too, and this type of casserole recipe is just that, a nice treat of a recipe. It would be a great alternative to ordering pizza on the weekend when you usually eat something a bit more cheesy and indulgent. If you have kids, they will absolutely love it because of the tater tots and all of the cheese in it. Casseroles are perfect for families with kids because they are so easy to put together and they require little to not fuss. Plus, they also give you some great leftovers for the next day. They're also great for pot lucks because you don't have to spend a lot of money or time on the dish and it's something everyone is sure to love.

You can literally take anything from your fridge and pantry and put it together to make a delicious casserole, especially if you have cheese. This casserole recipe includes butter, flour, milk, cheddar cheese, olive oil, ground beef, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, dill pickles, and tater tots. There are also the garnishes that you'd regularly put on a cheeseburger since this is a cheeseburger-themed casserole. So you can add some tomatoes, chives and even some fresh lettuce on the side with your cheeseburger casserole. If you want to make this recipe a bit healthier, you can also use ground chicken or turkey for a leaner option, or even a vegetarian meat if you like. You could also substitute the cheddar cheese for goat's milk cheddar cheese which is just as good, but it's easier to digest for most people. First, you cook up the onion and the bell pepper for 3 to 5 minutes and then in the same pan, cook the ground meat to cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Drain fat and put it back in the pan to season with some salt and pepper, the Worcestershire Sauce, and ketchup. Then, you can add the pickles and set that all to the side. In another pan, add some butter and whisk in the flour when the butter has melted and add in the milk. Next, add in the cheese to melt in the mixture to create your sauce. You could also substitute the milk for non-dairy milk like coconut milk or almond milk if you like.

In a 9 by 13 casserole dish put in the beef and spread it out over the pan. Then, add the still frozen tater tots on the beef and pour the cheese all over the tater tots. You can then put on the diced tomatoes and put 2 more cups of cheese on top. Then, you'll put all of that in the oven to bake for 30 minutes. When it's all done baking, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into pieces and serving up.
